2008
Scabro opens its doors
After the departure of the Royal Dutch Navy Airforce from Vliegkamp Valkenburg, their former chemical warehouse turned out to be the ideal starting place for Scabro. Starting as an agent for a German / Swiss epoxy manufacturer, the portfolio quickly grew serving both the Tooling & Composite markets.
2013
Composites Innovation Event
Simultaneously with the 5-year anniversary, Scabro organized the “Composites Innovation Event”. While hosting 40+ international exhibitors and knowledge institutes, we invited 25 composite industry leaders who gave a presentation, and we welcomed more than 300 prospects and customers, getting them up to date on the latest innovations in composites.
2019
Start of production
After moving to a bigger facility in Katwijk, Scabro started to play around more with new materials, intensifying the relationship with the R&D departments of many material suppliers. Quite soon the lab turned out to be a perfect incubator for small series production such as the world first “Recycled Carbon Chair” which is on display in both the Amsterdam Stedelijk Museum as the Vitra Design Museum in Germany.
2024
Building quality and scaling up
Offering services as prototyping, tooling and small series production in Holland, we paved the way for mass production of lightweight composites. With an aerospace grade quality system and working with like-minded international partners with scaling possibilities we are proud to conclude that we produce the airframe of the worlds most advanced & lighweight 3m wide fixed wing intelligence drone.
